Right on schedule, Sony and Activision have teamed up again for this “Limited Edition” Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 bundle that’s due to ship May 25th. Unfortunately, once you’ve opened the box the special experience is pretty much over, with only standard console and game inside, replacing the usual Uncharted 3 offering — unlike last year’s 160GB Black Ops combo , there’s no free DLC (or anything else) to be had

Adidas MiCoach game launching this summer, headed to Xbox 360 and PS3

Despite being involved in that peaceful conundrum with THQ, we knew Adidas still planned on launching its MiCoach video game at some point in the near future. Now, after weeks of keeping those lips sealed, the German company announced it’s teaming up with publisher 505 Games to finally bring the fitness-driven title to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 — where it’ll primarily use the Kinect and Move add-ons

Sony’s PlayMemories Studio now live on PSN, get your Playstation 3 photo-edit on

Yesterday’s rumor about Sony launching PlayMemories Studio this week has just become fact. The $15 editing suite has just gone live on the PlayStation Store, enabling plebes to edit, organize and share photos (and video) right on their home console of choice, the PS3.

Sony to add photo editing to PlayStation 3′s repertoire this week?

Limber up those thumbs gaming gurus, because a new challenge may be on its way to your PlayStation 3 console: photo editing. PCWorld is reporting that Sony will be rolling out some new “photo editing software” for the PS3 early this week. Tweaking photos aside, the software’s ultimate purpose will be to provide access to and allow the sharing of digital stills through the company’s PlayMemories Online (and your other Sony portable media devices), which is set to launch later this year.

Netflix ‘Just for Kids’ comes to PS3 to enjoy some Thomas inbetween those MW3 marathons

Netflix is doing everything it can to court that “under 12″ portion of the market by expanding its ” Just for Kids ” service to the PS3 . Also available on Apple TV , Nintendo Wii and online, it offers pre-selected content that’s suitable for any audience, including classics like Wallace and Gromit, Power Rangers and Thomas the Tank Engine . Just try and stick to those Thomas episodes pre Series-13, when they moved to all-CGI: that stuff gives us nightmares, let alone the little ones.

Nielsen report finds 56 percent of US households have a modern game console, total gaming time up seven percent

Nielsen is out with its annual survey of video game use in the US today, and it’s found that gaming continues to be on the rise across the board.

PSA: PlayStation Network goes down (again) from 9AM ET, but it’s for maintenance (again)

There’s presumably still some kinks left to be resolved, as Sony’s PSN is once more scheduled to snooze from 9AM EST through 3AM. Longer than last month’s efforts , it’ll affect the PlayStation Store, Music Unlimited and Video Unlimited services on PlayStation Home. However, you will be able to continue online gaming if you sign in ahead of the downtime.

Netflix app hits PlayStation 3s in the UK, service still coming ‘soon’

Netflix still isn’t offering a firm date for its launch in the UK , but it looks like some of the final pieces are starting to fall into place. The company’s PlayStation 3 app is now hitting consoles across the pond, displaying the message you see above when it’s launched. Unfortunately, that’s about all we have to go on at the moment, but PS3 users can now at least rest assured that they won’t have any waiting to do when Netflix does finally flip the switch — one more shot after the break.
