ZTE confirms the Score M has a backdoor, hopes to patch up soon

Who knew that owning a ZTE Score M would mean living life on the edge? ZTE has confirmed that the MetroPCS phone has a backdoor vulnerability which could let a less-than-scrupulous hacker get root-level control over the Android 2.3 phone — and because it’s a unique app baked into the firmware, the login credentials won’t change as long as the exploit survives. Other ZTE phones, like the Skate , supposedly face the same hole as well

Apple, HTC ordered by judge to sit down, try and make nice on August 28th

There’s a trend starting to emerge of judges wanting Apple to talk settlements with others rather than duke it out in the courtroom. Just two weeks after Apple and Samsung were steered towards talking about a potential deal, a Delaware court has ordered Apple and HTC to meet on August 28th in the hopes that they could shake hands and put an end to an increasingly hectic legal battle under the eyes of a mediating judge. Whether or not that happens is very much up in the air.

Motorola Droid 4 gets leaked ICS build, official Android 4.0.4 may soon follow

We’ve known for quite some time that Motorola intended to push Ice Cream Sandwich to the Droid 4 , but until now the waiting game continued, with no end in sight. It now appears that the smartphone maker is making serious progress on its own Motoblur-infused flavor of ICS, with a stock version of the upgrade making the rounds since last night

Teehan+Lax’s ‘Do We Have Milk?’ answers the burning question with your Android phone, custom jugs (video)

Let’s face it: whether or not there’s enough good milk to drink has been an ongoing problem among the technology set, which is why we’re surprised that we’re only now seeing true smartphone-milk integration through a project at Teehan+Lax’s Labs group. As the name implies, Do We Have Milk? will figure out whether or not there’s enough in the milk bag (did we mention Teehan+Lax is very Canadian?) based on a weight sensor in the jug.
