Panasonic announced its new 12-35mm f/2.8 zoom lens for micro four-thirds bodies today, and we just happened to get our hands on a pre-production version. On paper, there is a lot to like – image stabilization, dust- and splash-proof design, and a constant f/2.8 aperture; we’ve put this version through its paces in our test lab to see if the reality matches up. Reports from Europe suggest Fuji white orb fix imminent

Reports are coming in from Europe today suggesting that Fujifilm will soon offer a fix for a problem present on two of its cameras: the Fujifilm X10 compact, and the Fujifilm X-S1 ultra-zoom. Both cameras can exhibit unnatural-looking white circles–dubbed “white orbs” by the user community–where there are strong point light sources in the image.

A friend pointed me to this article ; a nice story of what it was like in the good old days of Kodak, told by the son of a “Kodak Man.” Like people, most companies have a life history, from infancy through robust middle age, and finally to decline and death.
